Cracking the DaVinci Code for Internet Success

12 February 2006

The DaVinci Code has been a widely read and enormously popular book. It is also one that goes against the teachings of most Christian Faiths.

In brief, the centerpiece of the book is a story, supposedly factual, that Jesus married Mary Magdalene, meant for her to lead His followers, had a child with her and that tremendous secrets associated with this and other revelations are still being jealously guarded by the Catholic Church because organized religion would be turned upside down should the public find out the "real truth".

The book starts with the premise that everything contained in it is factual. However, there are many supposed facts that are just plain not correct as well as a reliance on unsubstantiated "stories" casting doubt on the entire of the book for those willing to take an honest and critical look at it.

Why has this book been so popular? I would say there are two primary reasons:

  1. People are not willing to do their homework to check out any facts. They accept everything they read at face value if an "expert" claims it is true. They are often lazy in this regard because it is easier to accept facts than to challenge them or take the time to do any research.

  2. Probably the larger reason for the success of this book is because of today’s culture. There is a fascination with supposedly hidden secrets and an aversion, maybe hostility is a better word, to organized religion and the teachings that have been accepted for nearly 2000 years. Organized religion stands as a guardian for the traditional Judeo-Christian values which are not popular with the culture of much of Hollywood and the media today.

Even though the foundation of the DaVinci Code is essentially a fraud and a platform to espouse views contrary to thousands of years of Judeo-Christian teachings there is something to learn from human nature that can be applied to building your Internet business.

  1. Spend time doing your homework before you start any program. Don’t believe all the hype about a program. Obviously people have to sell you on their program, but a little skepticism is always healthy. Do research on the program you want to use to see what is involved to be successful with it. The Biblical Guide to Internet Riches walks you through this process step by step.

  1.  There are no magic secrets to Internet success. There are no get rich quick schemes that work. Building a successful Internet business will take work – there is no way around it – sorry.

The only secrets that may be hoarded are the lessons learned from things that did or did not work. But there are no magic money machines. Yet there is always a fascination about learning some secret way to wealth without work.

The truth is there is no “lazy man’s (or woman’s) way to riches. There are proven ways to success that have been demonstrated time and again. There are also shortcuts, or lessons learned, that can help you save you from repeating making the same mistakes others have.

Finally, heed the advice of St Paul in his letter to the Philippians 4:8 where he tells us:

“Finally, my brothers, your thoughts should be wholly directed to all that is true, all that deserves respect, all that is honest, pure admirable, decent, virtuous or worthy of praise.”
