What are you willing to give
up?
9 April 2006
[The rich man replied] “Teacher I have kept all these since
my childhood.” Then Jesus looked at him with love
and told him, “There is one thing more that you must do.
Go and sell what you have and give it to the poor; you
Will then have treasure in heaven.”
Mark
10:20-21
Sooner or later, we must all make decisions about what is really
important in our lives. The message in Mark is that we need to
put Jesus first in our lives. If our attachment to the world is
so strong that it interferes with our relationship with Jesus we
have our priorities wrong. We must make a decision in our lives
about what is really important.
Think about many of the commercials for money making programs.
What do they do to entice you to buy into their program? They
show the program creators in front of mansions or multiple
expensive cars or they talk about the wonderful vacations they
take. Have you ever heard any of them say the extra money they
made enabled them to help those who are sick or needy? Not that
I am aware of.
Now there is certainly nothing wrong with financial prosperity
as long as your priorities are correct as Jesus talks about in
Mark’s gospel. Your focus must be on heaven and not on earth.
Part 1 of
The Biblical Guide To Internet Riches teaches a success
philosophy that helps keep God first in your life as you pursue
Internet success.
The same is true for your Internet business. I know you are
interested in building your Internet business, which is
absolutely great. But what are you willing to give up to achieve
success? What is your priority? Is it watching TV, surfing the
net, fishing?
If you are really serious about building your Internet business
you must be willing to make it a priority and give up other
non-essentials to build success.
Take some time to reflect on your priorities during the coming
days. Decide how serious you are about achieving success and
what you are willing to give up. The only way to achieve the
success you desire is to make building a business your priority!
Finally,
heed the advice of St
Paul in his letter to the Philippians 4:8 where he tells us:
“Finally, my brothers, your thoughts should be wholly directed to all
that is true, all that deserves respect, all that is honest,
pure admirable, decent, virtuous or worthy of praise.”
To Success His Way,
Mark
